What is this guys problem?? Need advice.?

So i am 23 and this guy is 30 we go to school together and have a class together. At first he was really flirty and would text me every single night and he has asked me out over 20 times but ive said no just because he seems like so much drama and a player and he is not really my type but he is actually a good friend to have. I like talking to him just dont want to date him. Anyways this past weekend i guess he got really drunk and was at this girls house( we both know her) and he is like good friends with her husband anyways he decides to text me like 5 or 6 times at 1 in the morning telling me how much he cares about me and wants to go out with me and telling me how pretty i am and that he really really likes me and just wishes i was there with him i didnt get the messages because i was sleeping but then he texts me the next day and says sorry about the drunk texts i just said its fine dont worry about it but now he wont hardly talk to me anymore. I did like talking to him but just as a friend whats his problem???What is this guys problem?? Need advice.?
